She's up on the rack at the dealership as I type. Getting:

New #1 and #8 injectorsNew fuel lines and filter and fuel rail flushNew P/S rack (the 90-93 model! WOOT!)New knock sensor (other was replaced a year ago)New underplenum hoses and plenum/TB scrubbingNew rear door things (the slider mechanism, not the hinges)

All under warranty (except for the cost of the hoses and flush):D

Techs were all crowded around her, commenting on what good mechanical condition she's in...

LOL - I'm loving the warranty. However, I think I may be coming REAL close to them cutting me off, as I'm very close to the car's ACV.

Whoever eventually DOES buy her is getting a lot of car for the money.

Have they given you the option to renew the warranty......?

Let me know how much the fuel rail flush is, because I think Im gonna get one here soon!!! Along with the transmission service, and a transmission cooler next spring (I think it will be OK over the winter.....)

No renewal option.

At expiration, Quella will have 114K on the clock - At that point she and I are on our own. :D

ACV? Actual car value? Are you hinting at "upgrading" from Quella to something else? Fuella? Guella? Muella? LOL!

LOL - Fugu... Can it get any worse than that?

If I had the $$ right now, "Muella" would DEFINITELY take her place.

p.s. New M (when she takes up residence) will be named "Madelaine" (after my dearly departed '68 GranSport).:(

Depends on how it is pronounced. "Foo Goo" is one way ... "Phug You" is another! :D

No probably not....... Once the 94 dies (I plan on keeping it till it dies, because at this point I already have more money into it than I could resell it for), Ill probably be able to get an 03 or so......!

But if the price is right and I got some $$$, who knows????

Well, id assume they depreciate about the same as a 3 year old Q today, so that means we should be able to pick up a good one for about 20-25k......

I've been looking over the tech's shoulder as he does the plenum pull. Interesting to say the least.

He's scrubbing down the "V" between the banks and has cleaned up all the hardlines before reinstalling them - Nice!

She's all done - Finished off with a full coolant flush, MOC cleaning of the valves and a double-dose of BG. Tech opened both doors wide so I could feel how smooth she idles now... Nearly imperceptible vibration at the tops of the door frames.

<---- Happy Hitman!

Oil change Monday.

Looks like fun, huh? I'm sure he did some "extras" since you work there.

I bet it's cool to actually be working around one of your favorite hobbies!

The tech is cool as hell - One of the few guys who understands the passion for a car that many would have written off as a money pit long ago...

If you're ever at Infiniti of Scottsdale, look up Caesar - You can't miss him, and he's a great guy.

Greg,Good to hear she's out of the hospital. How much do figure the warranty work has added up to since purchase. Wish I had figured a way to get one, then maybe my hands wouldn't look like pinecones after my plenum job. It's amazing what a weak injector and dirty plenum can do isn't it?

I'm guessing $7K.

Surprised they haven't asked for the car yet as that's damn close to ACV.

Glad to see you're still lurking, Steve. How's the new project coming along?

Are we talking a '68 Buick GS? What a sleeper car! Things got even better in 1970 with the 455 Stage 1. When I was a kid, my much older cousin had a new 1965 Skylark Gran Sport. 465 CI, as I recall. 4 speed manual. He heavily modified it for the drags, but still streetable. Awesomely quick car. Was the same color as my M45. My older sister's boyfriend had a new 1966 Chevelle SS 396 4 spd at the same time. No slouch either.

Cool that you're getting Quella a nice mechanical makeover. Especially on somebody else's dime. The main reason I traded my 94 Q after 7 years and 90k miles was becasue the Infiniti extended warranty was about to expire. I loved that car, but would have not owned it for a single day without warranty coverage. Too many things that can come up that could cost a major percentage of the car's value, but yet you have to get the repair done for any number of reasons.

Let me know if you ever want to get together for an afternoon to spend some seat time in each other's cars. I haven't driven a mid 90's Q since I traded mine in January, 2001. Fond memories of the old Q. Phoenix to Lake Powell to visit the boat was done regularly in 3.5 hours (250 miles from my front door to Wahweap Marina). Best was 3.25 hours. Of course you can drive an M45 anytime, but I suspect mostly during demos.

Sounds great Russ! We'll have to make plans to make a day of it, next time I have some time off...

My '68 was a full body-off resto, done by me. I bought it in 1988 with 48K miles on it (little old widow lady, husband was original owner, sold it to me). Put in a cam and manifold from TA Enterprises, owned by Mike Tomaszewski (Phoenix Buick GENIUS). Had 3.23 rear gears and still ran in the low-15's. Addco front and rear sway bars with polyurethane bushings throughout.

I briefly swapped the engine to a 455 out of a 70GS, but pulled it immediately thereafter as it really didn't have the intended effect and KILLED the handling.

I still have a TON of trophies from all the shows, and the highlight was getting invited to World of Wheels in 1990, and getting photographed by a professional for Musclecars Magazine a week later.

interesting facts about the 1968 Buick 350: Has more stock HP than the Chevy 350 and weighed 50 lbs less.

There are some pics of the car somewhere on NICO... Repo is a big Buick fan and asked for them...
