93nismo's full of sh*t. We've been hearing this crap for a few weeks now on the 240sxclub forums. First he had a near-stock motor and was asking for bolt ons advice, then it was the built up NA motor that ran 13.2 (which he had had for over a year, amazingly), and now it's supercharged.

So 93, did that supercharger add more hp than the Tornado or even the timing mod? :owned

Back on topic...I'm interested in that 15.3 run - wow, just an exhaust, not even the supposedly hotter '91 motor, that's impressive. What were the track conditions like, outside temp, amount and octane of fuel in the tank, ect.?

Here ya go: http://www.mindspring.com/~bbarb1/timeslip1.jpg

Let's see what is there to tell, full interior, 3/4 a tank of gas, I am pretty sure I was running PLUS(so 89 octane) that day. Ya....the other run in that slip is my friends 2.5RS with crappy clutch and no launch.

93Nismo....that's called a timeslip, it's also called the truth. :)

I just ran my car for the first time. We only have 1/8 mile tracks near here. I couldn't get the ar to launch as hard as I wanted. It bogged when launching at 3,500. I only got to run it once, but, here's what it ran...2.302 60ft. [email protected]. I was shifting at about 6,300. I'm gonna run it again this week, I know it will get into the high 9's, just have to get used to the car. It just feels sluggish off the line for some reason.

HICAS came stock on certain 240's. How is it a mod? And if you REALLY want to get into it then the J30 actually changed my gear ratios and made them longer which *technically* hurt my acceleration. :)

PS: Quit bugging me, I left NWN to get away from people like you.

^ I find it funny when all I have done is a 93 hatch, 5 speed, bad clutch, cheap sam's club tires, just a drop in KN filter, an 200 dollar crush bent exhaust, an im running faster than you. O yea forgot to mention I have 178k miles.

well i dont think its too funny! my car is not a drag car in the 1/4th mile! i have 4.60's gears and im in 5th at the end of quarter mile(5th doesnt pull). We have to drive 2 hours to the nearest quarter mile track, so where i live 1/8th is very popular. Before my KA was running 15.07 with stock 4.08 gears. Does your 240 run 9.31sec in the 1/8th?! Mine does!

sounds like u both have factory freaks, because low 15s are very uncommon among 24o's, either way, congrats to you both on your times, and knight, thats an insane 1/4 time with a stock KA

Wait......why did you get 4.60 gears and why would you want them? I am confused.

My 240 should run low 16's witht he new motor. More than likely I won't have it at a 1/4 mile track unless I go to a NICO meet and we end up doing that. I'm not much for drag racing anymore.

and Silent, you don't have a bad clutch if you are running 15.5's near stock. You would be running 16.5's (atleast) if your clutch were slipping. Don't get too high onyourself. You can drag, but can you take the twisties?

4.60's mean more low end, less top end. Why not play on what the KA already has, instead of trying to make it be somethign it's not?

Holy 3 posts in a row batman!I still don't get why it would be so good, maybe for a stock KA. But if you are a KA-T(like me soon hahahah) then wouldn't you want the stock gear ratio's or at least the J30/300zx ratios....

^^^ Silent you are my hero, you have:

1) Bad clutch2) "warped flywheel AND pressure plate"3)170,000+ miles4) stock engine/car5) all season/super crappy tires

And you STILL seem to run...even in my opinion a fast time for a 240. I was willing to believe ya man but.....geezuz christ dude. I want pics of your odometer and timeslip. No offense but....damn man so much talk and so much going against you and yet you still ran that time.....I dun't get it.

^ exactly, I think the guy is exaggerating a bit. And shiznit, a katurbo is definitely not like a ka n/a. So your post has no relevance to mine what so ever

silent is telling the truth, the clutch looked as if it been through hell and back, and yes he does have 170,000+ miles as well as a striped out rear. I can vouch for the 15.5 time I seen the slip

my stock 240 comes with 4.08 gears. very close to the honda s2k with 4.10 gears (except no 6th gear). so i have nothing against the 4.08 gears. well get to the subject, higher gears does not really mean 'less low end and more top end' then why is the number one gear swap out is for the new mustang gt from stock-3.27 to 4.30 gears?..and god knows that mustang is nothing but low end torque!! gears are very tricky, it helps the car from bogging out off the line, keeps the rpm nice and high when shifting gears, and puts the horsepower to the wheels. The strongest gear for my ka is 3rd, the upgrade 4.60 gears i get to 3rd faster and it pulls alot harder. with just the 4.60 upgrade, it knock off my 0-60 time a whole second with drag radials(dumped at 5000rpm), and my 1/8 mile time from 10.42 to 9.31 seconds. gears are so importand when it comes to acceleration. now.. my cousins s2k has 4.77 gears, and its the fastest n/a 4cylinder car i ever drove. went from 9.46 to 8.89sec in the 8th mile. not bad! sorry for long reply...thanks.
