I have a '95 240sx LE (SE in U.S), 160Kms(100k miles). I ran a 15.309 at 91 mph. Mods are as follow:-custom cold air intake-2.5 inch catback exhaust-pacesetter header-ASP underdrive pulley-removed back seat and spare tire -ran on stock 16 in rims

im new to these boards but i usually post at http://www.240sxforums.com under nissandriven240.

I drive a 92 5spd fastback 115k miles with conefilter/2.5 catback exhaust/test pipe

with those mods i ran a 15.6/ 2.3 60ft/ at 89mphI launched the car at 3000

I added a asp crank pulley after that and still ran the same time. Only difference was that i had to launch the car higher at 3500 because it would bog at 3000 rpm

Iam going to the track in 2 weeks to see what I can run with my new mod spec stage 3 clutch and 55shot of nitrious w/warmer. Hopefully low to mid 14's:D

To you guys that wanna flame me for using nitrious you guys can all suck my **** because your just mad your cars slow so grow up.

because for the money to get you to a low 14 all motor you could just spray an get there or go turbo an run alot faster.

My 240 (bad trans) ----- my friends Audi TT quattro ( 225 hp)street tires street tires

reation .717 --- --- .504

60 ft. 2.333 --- --- 1.985

1/8 mile 9.749 --- --- 9.657

1/8 mph 74.46 --- --- 70.75

1/4 mile 15.014 --- --- 15.385

1/4 mph 94.56 --- --- 85.87

So a good 60 ft. is not always the determinating factor of who wins. You could get smoked off the line and still catch up and win. Not always but, sometimes.

You can. But you need a superior power to weight ratio compared to your opponent to do so.

Anyone have times of a KA with higher compression (SOHC pistons) and maybe some headwork?? Just curious.

Launched at 3500 rpm. I slipped the clutch rather quickly, but didn't dump it. After I slipped it all in one fluid motion floor the throttle. Reason being with the upgraded clutch and flywheel the car revs 10 times faster and the slightest hint of wheel spin will just bury the tach at red-line. The quicker reving makes the car hard to launch with minimal wheel spin but with practice its very possible.

I shift at 6800 rpm:ylsuper

If a s2000 can run a low 14...why can't a 240. It doesn't sound like anyone is really pushing there cars...investing in ecu upgrades,p/p head work, higher comp. Kinda sad..you think?? The s2000 was dynoed @ 205 whp and the ka can make nearly that much. With some weight reduction...there we go!!

Because the most highly modified N/A 240s don't dyno much more than 160rwhp, tried and trued by half this board.

That'll get you a 15.0 @ 92-93mph or so, but no more...

I've hear someone on the board was making 180-190 rwhp..

Show me a dyno and I'll believe it...I did the n/a KA thing for years, and made a little over 160rwhp. Other than really agressive cams, which can't make huge gains on a a low rev motor, I did it all.

And the highest I've ever SEEN isn't even 175rwhp...plenty of guys have said "I run 14s", or "I make 185rwhp"...never seen it in my 6 years of S-chassis tuning.

But I'd love to see it, too bad it's not out there without power adders.

The guy was a moderater!!! Honestly, i wouldn't have a problem running a 14 n/a.(10.5 -1 compression)on 91 octane if i had the chance. Mine is a '95 auto though (slower). 14 secs is very vague( 14.0-14.9) and you would need to set some ground rules to avoid anyone cheating with 110 octane or hi comp( over 11-1) Anything else off limits??

Honestly, I dont see why 180+ RWHP isn't attainable. With bolt-ons most 240's are what?? 125-140?? Something like that?? I'd say 50 more ponies has to be attainable. orion, what were your torque numbers at that 160RWHP??

IIRC it was 158ft/lbs...

I can't even find my +160rwhp dyno anymore, but I have my previous best on the web:

157rwhp / 154rwtq, KA dyno

All I added was a little more base timing and a 3" intake that was a short ram, placed the filter where the battery used to be.

Here's a pic: Custom intake

And 180 may be attainable, but no one's done it to my knowledge...
