what do you guys think of quad exhaust? my friend has quad exhaust on his E500 with a E63 AMG body kit and he put a C63 AMG rear diffuser and has it custom fitted. i was thinking about doing the same with the C63 diffuser but last night i was looking at the stock diffuser and i think i can just cut the part that stops you from having quad exhaust (only big enough for dual exhaust) and just move it over a little more towards the middle.... my brother gave me his quad tips from his corvette (aftermarket tips he had with his aftermarket exhaust). so wheres a photo of a members car that i edited (NOT MY CAR) and i dont think his is lowered but i'm not sure.

and here are the tips i'd use (they just need to be cleaned)

and it would look a little different then that coupe because in that pic i just used "paint" and covered the bottom section and rear diffuser. so with the factory diffuser modified, it would look much better

THANK YOU!!! that's EXACTLY what i was looking for! the 2nd pic is what i want mine to look like but with the tips my brother gave me. if i can find one of my dad's saws lying around the house today, ill cut it and make it look like the 1st pic and later on take it to a body shop and have them make it like the 2nd pic but i'd paint the whole diffuser a gloss black like parts of my fascia.... maybe later wrap it in CF so i'll have quad exhaust with a CF rear diffuser

i just found out that its not a good idea to rush into taking a saw to your beautiful back bumper its ok tho, its a work in progress lol so what happen is that i cut out part of my bumper to fit the quad exhaust tips and i cut off the exhaust piping i had (i never got tips when i put my aftermarket exhaust). so now i need to cut one pipe a little more and then cut the piping on the quad tips my brother gave me and then bolt it up (hopefully it all fits like i think it will). i just couldnt finish today cuz my dad was on his way home from work and if he saw me cutting my bumper and exhaust pipes when he pulls up, i'd be dead lol so ill finish it another day. it looks worse then before i started cutting but its not that much worse and it will look much better soon.

oh ya! the exhaust sounds hella different! shocked me when i started the car. so i wonder how it will sound after i put on the new tips

not really since i already have exhaust and i'm just going with quad tips lol if anything it should be in the exterior section since its just the outside appearance and has nothing to do with performance or tuning....

Thanks dude. Considering I've got a pretty huge contract for PS work with one of the fastest growing adult websites on the net, I'd better be damn good at it!

Hussain: I'm REALLY looking forward to seeing this! I want to see some pics of your mangled pre-completion rear diffuser though! Also, considering I know nothing about wrapping products in CF, the name of the process alone ("wrapping") would seem to indicate that you'd need an edge all the way around in order to be able to do this. Since the diffuser is a physical part of the bumper and not a removable piece, would wrapping it still be possible? I'd considered doing it last year but the logistics of it escaped me...

Sure you can wrap a portion of it.. you would cut the fabric to fit, then tape off the surrounding area while you are working on the cf. Surman is working on a CF center to his stillen front bumper.

here are some pics of my diffuser.... first two were before i shaved off the edges and sanded it down to smooth it out.... now i think it looks pretty good, might just need a lil more sanding to smooth it out.

Yes, but don't you need to wrap it around something? As far as I can tell, the top of the diffuser is molded into the rear bumper...how would you wrap the edge of the CF around that? Or is it simply a cap that's being made that'll be glued on when finished?

i encountered a couple problems today. the tips are massive so i need to cut a large amount of the piping that was connected to the tips... only problem is that if i cut that much then i wont be able to bolt them up and would need them to be welded on. another problem i encountered is that the tips are so massive that in order to fit them i got to cut more of the piping that exits my muffler and if i cut any more i'll cut off the hanger thats welded to it that holds the muffler in place....

so to sum it up, i cant do it myself and need to have a muffler shop do it.... i went to a muffler shop today but i was too late and they wernt taking anymore cars and all the shops are closed tomorrow so i got to get it done monday morning.... but while i was at the shop today, i got a good parking space next to a nice car

Hey weren't any sort of exhaust mods on a car illegal in Commifornia? I swear I read that somewhere. Like you can't even replace the muffler, let alone catbacks and headers etc. Anyone wanna confirm or deny?

no thats not true. i mean theres even CARB legal headers that have CARB numbers and everything. mufflers arnt a big deal in california. when you start messing with the cats and stuff before the cats, that when you get in trouble.

Not feelin the IS-F tips. I'd do the Quad exhaust, it would cost a sh*t load. How much did it cost.
