hello all... i've got a mega problem with '94 Q45a.... went to the store last nite and when i came out the dang car would NOT start!! the lights would all come on, BUT when i put INTO the key into the ignition all the lights would DIM!!! I'd turn the key and it was almost light total melt down.

I thought i had a dead battery, but as soon as i remove the key from the ignition all the dome lights would light up without problem nor dimmness, and when i turned the key again towards the on position all the lights would die down again!!!

i called my wife, thinking it was a dying battery (battery is ONLY 2yrs old), after 10min of charging/jumpstarting the car still would not turn over/start and the lights would dimm dead...even took a big draw from my wifes minivan!! i couldn't even put the car into GEAR [neurtral] when the battery drained all the way down, the release on the shifter would NOT depress down to shift (whuts up here??!!)

well i left it at the store and this morning i went back to look at it in the daylight..nothing but dome lights working until i put the key into the ignition...then lights die again. I called AAA for a tow, the guy said "maybe a battery".. he hooked it up to his charger and it STARTED!!! but when i tried driving it kept hesitating and lurching and the lights would flicker on and off wanting to stall. i thought it just need some fuel, so i let it idle for 5mins but as soon as i started driving it keeps lurching and wanting to stall!!!

i had the guy tow it to a service center (not infiniti) to be looked at in the morning, and of course it would NOT start!!

now i did have a starter relay put in this summer because it wouldn't turn over, but this is a different problem where all the electronics just dimm/drain away and fade to nothing with the key in the ignition.

i was hoping someone would have an incite as to what the possibilities are.
