I replaced my BBS alloys and Michelin Pilots with a winter wheel and tire package from Tire Rack. I choose Pirelli winter sports. The vibration is still present so I guess that rules out wheels and tires.

I took it for a ride today and experimented more carefully. Vibration maximizes at about 1500 - 1700 rpm. It seems to be largely still there when I put it in neutral and try to keep the revs at 1500 - 1700. Also when I got back home I tried increasing the revs slowly when the car was stationary. I could feel the vibration again at the revs indicated above but it is not as severe as when the car is moving.

Does suggest that the transmission or engine mounts are the most likely cause or could I possibly have more than one source of the vibration

my guess would be your mounts by your description. try putting it in gear and power brake it slightly a couple times. does this intensify the vibration? if so i would say its mounts.

If your car is a CA model, then it applies to you! I have the same thing, and I am under it.....

I checked through that previous post but my vibration seems a bit different. Firstly it seems to max out at about 1500 - 1700rpm and I was able to reproduce it in neutral and with the car stationary. The old post seems to focus on a highr rpm of 2500.

I am going to go underneath this weekend, weather permitting and check the mounts for the engine, transmission and exhaust as a starting point. Does anyone have any tips on changing these if one or more is the cause

Trans mount is easy, motor mounts are very tough.

Solutions are usual tough, if they were easy there would be no problems unsolved.
