On a 97Q, I'm trying to replace the front parking brake cable (binding problem) but in order to do so, I have to take out the SRS Diagnosis Sensor Unit under the center console area. There are 6 special bolts that need to be removed. Per FSM, these bolts have bonding agents and need to be replaced, i.e. 'one time' use only. Also, there is a stud at the center of the bolt which requires a Tamper Resistant Torx (Size T50).

Does any one know where I can get these bolts and tamper resistant Torx? I called Joe/Scottsdale Infiniti but they don't sell such items.

Thanks,Rod

you can get tamper proof torx bits at sears, i bought an entire set of specialty drivers for like $20 at sears. Im pretty sure theres noe big enough but id have to double check... Tamper proof torx bits arent real hard to get...

I wouldnt worry about the one time use deals, especially if the bags havent been deployed. maybe just throw a little loctite on them and call it a day.

Fry's has some decent driver sets.

I am surprised that Joe doesn't have the one time use bolts. Are you certain you asked the question correctly?

Brian and Wes, I specifically mentioned the SRS DSU special bolts and tamper resistant Torx T50 required on the 97Q when I called Scottsdale Infiniti. I'll call again today and this time will try to talk to Joe directly. I went to Sears yesterday but the biggest tamper resistant torx they have is T40. But I found a set (up to T55) at PEP Boys. I'll start work today unless Joe has the special bolts.

Thanks,Rod

Per Scottsdale Infiniti, the special bolts are part of the air bag kit and are not sold separately. Completed the job yesterday, using Loctite red.

Ah, that kind of makes sense. Good for you.
