I just purchased a whole rear end for my s13, and I understand a 300zx TT LH axle is needed to complete the swap. Is there a difference between the n/a and tt axle?? The TT axle is IMPOSSIBLE to find, no parts stores carry them and no junkyards have them. Any one know of any other options??

im in the same predicament. i have a j30 in my car right now and want to switch to the stronger q45 setup with j30 gears but that axle is near impossible to find. the tt axle is a staggered 6 bolt, the na is a staggered 5bolt. j30 95-96 is same as the stock axles (three sets of 2 bolt) and j30 92-94 are staggered 5 bolt. i have found that for the q45 swap the only way to do it is with the q45/300zxtt driver side axle combo. for the j30 you can use both j30 axles 92-94 or a 300zx na driver, on the passenger side. the 300zx na passenger side cannot be used. and the 95-96 j30 is almost direct bolt in. Also output shafts CANNOT BE SWITCHED for the q45 because of spline count. my best suggestion is see how much a new one would run (not cheap) ive found an new one for like $230. my only other suggestions are to call some wrecking yards in other states and see how much it would run to ship you an axle. the best wrecking yard ive dealt with, with hard to find parts is LKQ. they are crazy aggressive about finding you the part you need and by far have the best customer service for any wrecking yard ever. im not ready to do my swap yet being that i just got done doing my j30 swap but when you call them see if they make that axle new. last time i checked they where selling the na300zx axles for like $60 but didnt show the tt. keap us posted.

well I found a place in CA that has the axle for $125, but they dont ship. I might have to arrange a ups driver to go and pick it up from them.

Brand new from nissan they are $900 LOL

haha! can you say kaaz 2 way instead! thats just stupid. LKQ has a place in cali that ships. they have places all over and do new parts and remanned engines....pretty big company. 125 aint bad though because i needed a j30 ds axle and again... impossible to find around my area. ranchocordova has a wrecking yard called sunrise nissan and they charged me 85 shipped.... they dont have the tt axle though... already checked.

I've got tons of q45s in my local junk yard. If you guys need axles let me know what years, etc. you need. There's 5 there now from 1990-1996. $40 plus shipping from 87112.

Don't forget you need the tt or q45 hubs also

Oh sorry, I should have probably read a little more in depth. There's no way I can find 2 tt shafts. I've only seen one TT come through the junk yards and it was stripped clean in a couple days.

I was thinking the same thing. From what it looks like the axle on the z31 bolts in on both sides like it doesn't have hub assemblys. I tried doing a hybrid axle with my stock axle and j30 axle but the spline count and diameter where bigger. Maybe its possible to do a hybrid axle with the z31 DS and the q45 PS? If I had those 2 axles I'd give it a shot......those should be easier and cheaper to find.
