I have owned my Q for 5 years and have never been able to get ANY rubber off the line. After installing this set up, the car easily and generously roasts the tires. Not sure how, but there you go.

WOW! Got video?

It must be the octane booster and the roasted tires.

Dude if you couldnt get peel out's before then check something else out.

I can hold the regular brake down (with just the right pressure) and do a nice standing peel out. That is how I scared my friend with a 98 Q into not racing me.

I never tried a brake torque - I would try on dry pavement in 1st, punching it down. I have never owned a car that was an automatic that could do this. Yes, I am still a teenager who likes to burn rubber and thinks its cool... and so does my daughter! (age 4) Well, I guess thinking about it, I used to be able to get a small chirp. She would always ask me on the way home from school. Now it's a totally different story - the car starts to go sideways.

A well-maintained stock Q *should* be able to turn the tires over a couple times.

Mine will lay a 3-5 foot patch in cold weather on dry pavement even with sticky 245/18's.

I'm 34 and I still enjoy lighting them up from a stoplight for fun, and slinging the arse-end out and boiling the hides out of a turn (the 20mm RSB and Eibach's do WONDERS for that.)

I boycott cold air intakes. I blew my engine in my s2000 because of some flash flood on the way to college with that crap on. Sound was cool but what a headache that was.

After posting about JWT Pop charger I went out and really looked @ the Q45's intake.

A little sheet of .23in sheet metal won't do anything after the engine is warmed up.

You would have to mount the Pop charger infront of the rediator to achieve a better source for cold air.

With the amount of stuff I dig out of my airbox as is it I don't think any of these "prototypes" will make it in my Q.

The "Ram-Air" is a cool idea though. It will work on anything..

would a k&n filtercharger be a good replacement for the stock air filter? i don't really need any performance gains, but it would be nice not to have to replace it.

Vic, If the search function works yet, there are many threads on this.

Search: K&N - Q45Tech posts.

I personally don't like dirt getting sucked in to my engine. PS The ads are very deceitful!

You still have to remove it for cleaning/ drying with the K&N "kit", after spending twice what a new OEM costs. Not sure what the problem is replacing it, probably the easiest thing to do on this car.

Alright look at it this way..

K/N drop in costs $50...

OEM are $7 ... REplace yearly (overkill IMHO), and your set for 6 years... No brainer... As good flow and MUCH BETTER filtering.....
