i have a 90 q45 with 117'000 and on the drivers side front suspension there is a jolt of movement both on the front end and i can feel it in the steering wheel. When i'm turning left hard or stoping hard you can hear and feel a jolt somewhere in the suspension on that side. I talked to a tech at nissan and he told me it sounds like an upper arm or something. I recently lowered the car with eibach springs and tokico struts and it made the problem not as bad but it still is present. Also if i turn the steering wheel from the right to hard left standing still it will jolt also. I don't know if any tech's on here knows what my problem is or knows how to help me but any feedback would be appreciated.........

Tension rods will have black, goopy leakage from big donut-shaped bushings (silicone-filled).

Upper links need to be replaced if they haven't been done in the past 3 years.

Both can be bought at a good discount from Joe at infinitipartsusa.com.

And let me add the value of doing a search on the two parts for further help in diagnosing and replacing them.

Probably. A strut is a loaded rod, so I guess so. Where did you see that term?

For best results just call Joe at 1-888-216-5328, you'll get rapid service and he'll make sure you're getting the right part for sure. I'd say upper links, tension rod bushings, sway bar bushings, and rack bushings would all be suspect. Also could be tie rod ends. I just did a swap of all suspension rubber on "Q2" to avoid chasing noises one by one over the next few years.

Might not be just one component. Most likely would be upper links and tension rod bearings. Do a search and you can learn much more how to diagnose and identify worn suspension components.__________________Brian1995 Q45 & Q45t & 2000 Q45

These things are always hard to diagnose with a car in front of you - much less by a written description! That's why I just did a complete overhaul - expensive but effective.

I'd first look at the upper links, sway bar bushings, and tension rod bushings if I had to bet some $$, but it could be any of the above.
