Okay so I was driving yesterday i say maybe 2 miles after I started the car and when I came from a stop light making a left turn I turned my headlights on and then right when I turned the switch over the car just shut off and would not restart

I have no idea what it could be maybe ignition switch went bad becasue the previous owner installed a push start button all the fuses seem to be good

Also nothing works on the except for interior lights on dash but stereo doesn't come on and when I turn the headlight switch on all the way only the sidemaeker lights work

o yeah it's a 95 s14 I need to get it running it's my daily any help would be greatly apreciated thanks again

Ehhh sounds like a cluster F. I would say get under the dash and see if it looks overly spliced by the old owner and try removing what was added first.

i also had the same type of an issue with my 95 s14, ended up replaceing the ignition switch as the car just shut off while driving and would not restart also had issues with the lower harness leading up to the pos and neg terminal at the same time

I replaced the switch today well just the electrical part I don't think i need the tumblar Also I removed the jumper for the clutch interlock switch. And nothing seemed to be out of place. I tested the ecufor codes and I got no flashing lights nothing I'm thinking the ecu is dead. But I could be wrong I don't know what could be the problem now.

sounds like your not getting power at the ecu. check your fuses, all of them, it sounds like you blew out a fusible link. if you list all the things that don't work I could probably narrow it down to which one it was but its probably easier to check them by removing them and testing for continuity between the terminals, its not good enough to just check by eye. if that doesn't help post a list of the things that do/dont work and i will try to help you narrow it down. is your 240 se or base, us or can?

Well after a couple of hours I last night ipulled every last fuse out and tested it. I also have a tool to test relays and I fount 2bad relays and 4 bad fuses replaced all and tested the
ignition switch for power and it gets 11.80 but when the key turns to the on position I get 0.00
tested the harness on the ecu side I get 11.98 turn the key to the on position it gets 0.00
also when I tested both I turned the headlight switch on and it made me lose power to the ecu and the switch

I did manage to get the car running I'm just curious as to why it happened.

And the only thing that was working were the dash lights and the side marker lights I had power to nothing when the key was in the on position and I had no power when the headlight switch was on.

the reason i ask is because the power routing is different between the two. the schematic is in the FSM, you should get a copy. If I had to guess i would say you have a short, probably in the steering column but thats just a guess.
