Q: RB26 swap

ive got a 91 fairlady(RHD) 2+2 auto.i want to go to a RB26 with a 5spd in it. as i've never done an engine swap before, and i dont wanna destroy something. does anyone have any tips or even somewhere i can find a walk through. and advice would be greatly appreciated.

Answer the following question as honestly as you can: How mechanically inclined are you on a scale from 1 - 10 (10 being very high, 1 being a noob)? RB isn't the hardest swap, but it's certainly not for the faint of heart.

im a heavy duty mechanic. so the mechanical knowledge is there. ive just never done and engine and transmission swap before. and ive never done this much work on a "small" vehicle before. and i need both engines in usable conditions. and to answer your question i'd say im about a 6-7 for a vehicle of this nature.

Then I'd say go for it. This guy is a member here, I'm sure you could ask him for advice. I'd also check out hybridz.org cause they probably have more guys who have done this swap. I just remembered there's a guy named SuperHatch who's putting an RB in his Z. Not sure if he's making a build thread though. Good luck!
