My neighbor's Toyota Camry (6 cylinder) can't start. He called the cheapest towing company and the charge is $75 for hook up and there is an additional charge per mile.

The Toyota repair shop is about 2 miles from his house.

He has the front bumper modified in order to tow the car, because he used to travel long distances using his old RV. But now he doesn't have the RV anymore.

He asked me if I can tow his car using my 95 pickup (4 cylinders, 2.4L)

The dude is a nice guy, a good friend, but I'm not sure if towing his car using my truck will be a good idea. As I never did this kind of favor, I might ask if it is OK for me to do the towing, after all, it is about two miles only, and no deep hills or similar.

Thanks for any advice.

Hey! Thank you a million for the many suggestions and tips about towing another car with my pickup truck, you guys are incredibly great, I know now that I can count with you...always.

If I asked such a question is because the other car is heavier than my truck, besides my truck is old, that was all. I pulled his car anyway, and the mechanic found out that it was the alternator. We went in my truck to buy one and my friend installed it by himself. I felt good giving him a hand, he is not in good economical shape at this moment and is a good guy.

Anyway, I had no issues by towing his car, and I guess (correctly) that you won't give a dime about this topic, but this posting is not for you...is for the other one...

You don't have to be crappy. Either way your owners manual would have given you all the info you needed.

Thanks, I'll check the manual next time (at that moment I just gave a look into the shop manual and found nothing).

I think I have a bigger issue now, is in the next thread.
