Proximity sensor

Ok guys, just an offhand question.

I was sitting around today after plowing another parking curb wondering, does anyone make a small, mobil proximity sensor.

I've seen several cars with them built into the rear bumber for backing up etc. I just thought it would be a cool idea to mount one in say, the front air dam somewhere so I could park without destroying all that fabulous fiberglass.

Anyone ever seen anything like this?
