Time for another update on the Datty... She is finally a rolling chassis again. Just threw on some spares from a couple random cars and a couple stock S14 wheels. Installed some custom CNCed chromoly pedals and a custom CNCed aluminum bracket for the pedals and master cylinders. I have not chosen what style throttle pedal to use yet, but it is also in the works. I am using individual Brembo master cylinders for front, rear, and clutch and had to use custom CNCed chromoly brackets for them as well. Nothing has been coated yet and I haven't finished welding in the new panel of the firewall, but there are some mock-up pics here. Also, have some custom made aluminum reservoirs tucked under the driver inspection lid that I'm not totally sure about yet.... Anyway, here are pictures!!!!!!

Also, I ordered an LQ9 (6.0l Gen.3 Chevrolet V8) that should be in today or tomorrow. The engine bay will be shaved and painted once the engine is ready for final install. After mock-up, of course...
Sorry, guys. I've been busy working on my car, running a business and driving race cars. Here is a small update of some things I've done since spring. Over the last few weeks, I have been working like a madman to shave the engine bay. Lots of grinding and welding.... Here are some pics of a few other things. I will get some of the progress in the bay, over the next couple of days. Enjoy! Feedback pls!
I am redoing this using brushed stainless.^ It will be mounted behind the glove box door, but would like it to be a bit more "fancy".
Mock up engine going in before I moved the car to my shop to do the bay.

Sorry that there is always a seemingly endless amount of time between updates, but I promise to post more pics and updates as soon as I get the car back from the body shop!!

OK ...as long as you promise.
Also...
More info on your fuse/relay panel. I'm thinking about cleaning up my relays and have been searching for some relay rack/relay/fuse/board type stuff. Your setup looks pretty clean. Where did you get the parts for that?

I bought the fuse panel on eBay. Just a universal panel with as many provisions for fuses that you may need. I made the mounting panel on my own with a little bit of tlc and a drill press. I got the OBD2 port from a dealer of OBD2 wiring and parts.
Here's a small update of some things I've been playing with lately. I'll have some more actual car pics if the body work ever gets finished lol. Finally bought the rest of the gauges and got them installed. None of the factory mounting brackets worked so I just made some of my own. I had to mount the gauges closer to the driver than stock to clear the dash bar part of the roll cage. Turned out pretty nice.
Just so you guys know, I'm still breathing and the project is still rolling on. I am constantly receiving parts for the Datsun and will post pics of the body bodyshop progress soon. It looks like I won't be getting the car back for a couple of months, the way the body shop is going, so I am going to begin the engine build! Just wanted to let everyone who's subscribed that all is well and you will have some updates as soon as I can post them!

Sorry, I have another lame update, but I promise it will be worth the wait! The car is still in the body shop. They're saying I'll have it back around Christmas. I do have some sneak peek photos I'll post soon! Just wanted to let you guys know it's still on track! I have changed a few things, as this is an ever-evolving project that has taken a log of its own. Now, the final engine decision will be a true 7.0l stroked LS3. Ditching the Sparcos for Takata's new seats and changing brake plans yet again. I will be using 6 piston Wilwood fronts and 4 Piston Wilwood rears with a reverse mounted master cylinder set-up. I will use aluminum rotor hats to ensure correct rotor offset, hydraulic e-brake, and line-lock for the parking brake. The most recent changes to the game plan are final! More to come next month!
