Okay nicoclub ! I am new to the maxima chassis but i'm getting really familiar with them. I was never really a 4 door type of guy considering I had a 240sx(rust bucket) & a 1g Eclipse GSX(fast but muchoooo problems) I am an 18 yr kid who learned to be patient & to take time to get things right on the 1st time. With that being said I sold my gsx to get a better reliable daily driver & i've heard great reliable things about a 5th gen max so about 2 weeks after I found a 2001 very clean SE maxima pretty high mileage but it was owned by a performance shop & fixed all the problems that had to do with check engine light before selling it to me for 2800. I think that was a steal & it has been treating me well ever since. So now since I work at a dealership(volkswagen) I plan to really take the time & go out for the best 5th gen max out there here is my list. It might be a little slow cause insurance is pretty high since im 18 -__- & I need to buy me a new computer & a dslr but enough about my personal life... & i'm open to help from you maxima owners specially on opinions (engine wise)

Exterior:
02-03 Front conversion
Stillen front lip
6k or 8k hids (headlights)
yellow fogs
New radiator support(rusty bastard)
Half size roof spoiler
OZ Futura or Work Xd-9 (still teaching myself about perfect fitment 0_o)
6th gen 6-spoke wheels are going to be my daily rollers for now(any forsale in ny area?? pm me)
Badgeless front grill
United Grey Golf GTI [LA7T] (MY06-MY0)

Suspension& Brakes:
BC Coilovers
Stillen Rear Sway bar
Energy bushings
Wheel bearings
All moog suspension support
Blehmco 300zx brake conversion f&r

Interior:
06-08 Civic Si shift knob or S15 shift knob
Alcantara shift boot as well as door panels
Evo Recaro seats( still in thoughts)
02-03 gauge cluster

Engine & drivetrain(last step)
VQ35DE & 6spd swap(all motor for better daily driveability)
Brian Crower 264/264 Cams
ferrea complete valve train
5 angle valve job
rebuilt 6spd with HSLD
Exedy stage 3 clutch
Lightweight flywheel
Balanced crank
Haltech Platinum EMS
Ngk plugs/wires
Individual Throttle body(still debating)
Wrinkle red valve covers
Bosch 044 fuel pump
Relocate battery
JE 96.5mm 11:0:1 pistons
Goal 300whp !
I will post pics of the car tomorrow feel free to help me out engine wise i'm also interested in turbo because I hear these vq30de-k motors are very good with boost but I'm not to sure with daily driving

I applaud you for wanting to do all of that work. I myself couldnt spend 15k+ on mods on a ten year old car

So I actually thought it out & come to conclusions that I would just keep the stock motor some bolt on ons + maintenence + tune to get it running even more healthier. Anyways here's a little update suspension components tie rods, bushings, ball joints, 02-03 grille ordered & coilovers, brakes, maintenence, 02-03 headlights & fogs are next, till then probaly wont be updating for a while. Brakes seem to be getting weary & insurance is a major killer -__-

Old bumper off !

New bumper on !

Image
Ionic Dynamic half size roof spoiler & materials used. Sat for 24hrs & seem to be rock solid sealed :werd:

Image
3M Indoor/Outdoor mounting tape & Loctite Outdoor adhesive both found @ home depot

Sorry for the crappy pics after I get my suspension & brakes done, A canon 5d shall be in my posesion & the reason I didn't paint my bumper is because everytime I wash it the day after I always see a new scratch on the body so i'll just wait till i paint the whole car instead

Best to start off with a 3.5L if you've got grand plans.

Well I might as well considering my engine is at 174k miles so I'll go for a decent 3.5 & with that said I see a lot of 04+ 3.5 for sale I would just need an 02-03 ecu & either an 02-03 6spd transmission or 6spd from a sentra with a maxima bell housing right ?
