I installed a obx short throw shifter myself. While im tighting the 4 screws, the stick doesnt move. I figured out you have to loosen them so the stick moves. I took it for a test drive without putting back my interior, and when I push the car the screws start to come loose. I dont want the screws or to mess up the shifter, to fall off on the street!! How do i stop this from happening???? Did I install the shifter wrong? If anyone has any pictures on how to install it or help me with this problem I would really appreciate it. If anyone knows please help.

Thanks Charlie

no, your only mistake was buying something made by OBX in the first place.

you dont tighten the nuts down all the way, literally hand tighten them, and take them maybe 1/2 turn to a full turn past that, it should be fine. if you still have trouble, refer to red240's post.

I installed my short shifter(OBX) half a year ago and i can remember that the 4 washers that are suposed to fit into the holes were a little to big to fit in there (had to grind em down), maybe u left these washers out or put em somewhere they don't belong(just a thaught). My shifter is still clamped by the screws like day one and to be safe u could use something like loc-tite.

Loc-tite will fix it. I"ve had mine in for a year and a half. Best 69 dollars I ever spent :)

yeah, use lock tight. I installed mine also on my s14, and the shifter would spin around while racing "on a track of course : )" and so I went and used loc tite. you should def. screw down all the screws as much as possible. I think zilvia.net has pics of this install if you need any more help. good luck.
