wussup... i have an 89' 240 and i found a big time power loss in the 2500-4000rpm range, so significant that i couldnt rev past 4000. I figured it would be timing and in the process i cracked my cam shaft pulley. I replaced it but i did the timing completely off and when it came time to start the car up.. there was this big bang sound.Anyways... to make a long story short... one of the exhaust valves broke into pieces and those pieces where consantly hitting and gouging the head. The head itself is has digs where the valves are and i was wondering if i had to buy an all new head or could that possibly be replaced. If i have to buy a new one... where do i buy it from?

thanks a lot frigga

I thought this was about something else. You can have the chambers welded up and polished if it is just "dented" not "cracked". It sounds like a junkyard head would be more cost effective though. Did you figure out if it was in fact a timing problem?

Sounds to me like a very bad timing problem... if the valve seat is screwed then I would suggest getting a junkyard head. Before you throw it in give it a good polishing so that it runs a little better and detonation free. Perhaps have the head machined to give you a little bump in compression.
