Before I run to the dealer about the glass on my car I figured I'd ask here.

Over the last few months the glass on our Versa has developed a lot of little marks that are starting to affect visibility when the sun is shining directly on the glass. These marks range from tiny pinpoints to "spider hairs" that are maybe 1/32 inches in length.

They are located throughout the windshield, rear window and side windows.

If you look closely you can see that the marks are on both the inside and the outside of the glass. They are NOT consistent with the kind of window scratches you can get from a carwash.

Is there some kind of window treatment applied to the glass on each car that might be "crinkling" here? The car was parked in some extremey hot sun late last summer (120*+ days in Palm Springs).

I've tried Invisible Glass and waxing the marks. Absolutely no effect. Is there some other reasonable treatment I can try? Is it defective glass?

I can't think of a chemical the car has been exposed to that would cause this kind of problem both inside and out.

I'd say take it to the dealer, perhaps you have a bad batch of glass on your car. I've never seen a condition such as yours. Perhaps pictures if possible?

Went to the dealer today to prep the car for a long emergency road trip. Our son in the Air Force severely injured his knee playing soccer on his unit team and they're doing surgery in Florida on Monday. So, ROAD TRIP!

The guys at the dealership don't know what caused the glass problem either but they got rid of most of it by using a super fine steel wool (softer than the glass) on it. We'll just have to keep an eye on it to see if the problem returns. What's wierd is that it's on the inside AND the outside of the glass.

Wow I have the same problem on the inside of my front windshield I saw it yesterday when cleaning my windows. I even used Alcohol to try to get rid of it but it is still there. it is not affecting my vision yet?

It just gradually got worse over the winter until it finally really started bugging me when the sun shines directly on it. I'm really uncomfortable taking steel wool to the glass but if the dealer does it, fine. Let them replace any scratched up glass they leave behind.

Wow. I have the same problem. It started after I used "Invisible Glass" Spray. It must be that because I used it for the 1st time after my last wash, and thats when I 1st noticed those marks.
