I am new to the forum and am about to purchase a very nice 1985 4x4 S/T. The truck has about 100k miles on it. It's all original and has been really well cared for. I can't find a comparable truck to try and use as a pricing guide. These trucks seem to be impossible to find in good shape. Since many of you are probably more educated on these trucks then me, what is the price range for an all original, excellent condition truck like this? The guy wants $4k for the truck which seems fair to me but I don't want to get ripped off because of being ignorant about these rigs.

Welcome aboard!

You're right, there's not a good reliable price guide for old Datsuns. However, I'm a Datsun collector, and I keep my eye on the market pretty closely. That price isn't unreasonable at all. Obviously, I'd try to get it for a little less, but even if you spent $4k, and that's what you really want, it's certainly not going to decline in value.

Thanks for the quick reply and the welcome. I'm glad I'm in the ballpark price wise and that these trucks are going up in value. It's really a neat old truck and the AC works great even down here in Tucson, AZ. It's got the original groovy fabric still in the interior in great shape. The only thing that doesn't work is the radio which lights up but does not produce any sound.

Right on, fellow Zonie!

We have the Factory Service Manual for that truck available here: www.datsunservicemanual.com, and the DesertDatsuns / DatsunSouthwest group are a cool bunch of guys.

Welcome to the family.
