so i was at a shell and i had some extra cash on me so i thought it would be cute if i get their shell V-power for my V (no pun intended) and i must say its a really noticable performance change, im thinking about filling just premium from now on but idk if that will defeat the purpose of an econo car

You may feel like you notice a difference but there is no need to get premium gas over regular gas unless your engine requires it or you want to pay more for gas.

You will not experience any more power or performance by using premium, higher octane fuel. Unless your car is designed to run on higher octane fuel, you're throwing your money out the window.

The Versa is designed to run on regular unleaded fuel. Save the dough and put regular in it.

what you may be feeling is either A) placebo effect or B) the additives in the V-Power cleaning gunk out of the system (if you usually use tier 3 or econogas)

Either way, I definitely wouldn't invest in the V-Power very often... If it's cleaning your system, great... but there are cheaper and more effective alternatives.

My thoughts exactly. V-power has an excellent detergent. That may be the reason behind your improvement (if it wasn't the aforementioned placebo effect).

Assuming it was indeed the detergents that helped, you can save yourself a lot of money there by stepping back down to regular and tipping a bottle of Techron or Lucas injector cleaner in every few fillups.

And speaking of Techron, that's another great alternative. Regular-grade Chevron and Texaco gas has Techron, which is an exceptional detergent. No need to step up to premium when the car doesn't need it.
