Hello experts. I need a re-manufactured power steering pump for 1994 300zx Twin turbo (cannot afford a new one)
Can someone point me to the proper product. I've done some research myself and cannot come to a conclusion of what exactly i need. Knowing amount of labor to replace the pump i do not want to buy one that doesn't fit or just a crappy brand that will leak in a week. Please help.
Thanks.

What is going on that you need a new pump? These generally do not go out.

It leaks slowly but surely. I am planning to do clutch work so planning to change the pump as well.

Are you 100% sure its the pump leaking and not the hoses?
IMHO, just get a rebuild kit. Easy to do, just keep everything in order and clean.

Ive heard those aftermarket pumps are not reliable

Chances are the return line is leaking, they always do. Rebuilding is an option, there is a seal that is a PITA, but doable. If you are mechanically inclined, should take you a couple hours to do.

So how do i make sure that the lines are leaking and not the pump? When the car was lifted last time i saw oil on the pump and lines were pretty dirty too.

Clean it all off, let dry, then turn it on see where its leaking. Its not easy. Another option is replace small things, one at a time and see if it stops. Start with the return hose. Thats the cheapest one and easiest to do.

Agreed, the smaller return hose and larger "J" hose are common. Another leak source is the high pressure hose at the rubber crimps right above the alternator.

I am very curious about a manual steering rack. I have a leaking power steering pump, and i do not want to fight all of the power steering lines looking for leaks. I have done a great deal of online searches to find a write up on how some did it and have failed miserably. I have heard that flaming river makes one, but i dont know much about it. Any help would be great
