I am looking for suggestions that will ultimately give me better response from my steering wheel to my wheels. My 1992 hardbody (that is running) doesn't appear to have a power steering system. Sitting still, I have to turn it around almost 4 times to make a sharp turn.
I can live with that in my 1992 hardbody (running), but I am in the middle of swapping my RB20DET into my 1993 hardbody (never been driven by me) so I am hoping to tackle my steering issues before I mount in the new motor.
Since I have only driven one hardbody ('92, no p/s), can someone tell me if a stock 1993 Hardbody with power steering has decent steering response? If sucky response is to be expected in a 1993, will the RB's power steering pump improve that problem?? Or should I be looking into some kind of rack-n-pinion swap, if possible?? I want to make sure this truck has a slightly sporty feel after the RB swap is finished.
Two more days and the rain will be gone and I can go back to my yardwork!!!!
