My 1992 300zx twin turbo, has a problem when the car drops below about 30mph the power steering stays hard. If I turn the engine off and back on again it's fine again until I drop below 30mph again.

If I plug consult in and go for a drive I get no speed reading from the ecu, but the speedometer works fine...

What could the problem be?

Thanks, dan

Welcome to NICO, Dan!

Thats an interesting problem alright.
Silly to ask, but just want to cover the bases- have you checked the condition of the fluid? Is it low, dirty, etc?
Is the power steering hard when you try to turn the wheel from a stop?

My guess is that its either low on fluid, needs a flush, or the pump is on its way out.

Totally agree with the above, most likely low fluid or bad pump.
