Pollution ???s

I know that this is bound to be an unpopular question but I was curious. I am working on taking EVERY thing out of my car's engine bay(repaint it before new engine goes in) and contemplating the removal of the carbon canister. I was wondering if anyone knows how dramamatic of an effect this has on pollution. I don't have to worry about emmissions checks but I was wondering just how unevironmentally friendly my car would be w/o the cannister and the AIV. Thanks for any input.
