Hi all,

I have a PNP switch error in my 2000 Max (stick shift). I figured out what it was by reading the forums (the SES code is 1706), and I found the switch and tested it per the Haynes manual and it is indeed bad.

So now the problem I'm having is finding a new one! Everywhere I go, I get a blank stare and they say they can't find one, or they tell me there isn't one because it's not an automatic. I have laid my eyes on it - I know it's there and the FSM references it.

I even called the Nissan dealer, and he told me that there's actually 2 different switches. There's not! It's 1 switch with 1 electrical connector. He gave me the 2 part numbers he had, but I have no way of looking that up. To replace it, I have to drain the transmission fluid, so I really don't want to pull it until I get a replacement. Anyone know the part number??

Thanks!

Matt

Or any other location that you can get a part listing / service manual for.

Go look it up there, i'm not 100% sure what you have. sorry.

But you can download the service manual for your year and then print it out and show the guy.

Good luck
