pitting grille and wind noise

Hey everyone,

I've a g35x 2007 and i had issue with my grille pitting and wind noise from the little triangle window at rear left door. I just came back from the guelph infiniti(Canada). They replaced my grille and fixed the air leak. They did an awesome job.

Did they replace it with the same cheap flimsy grill that is likely to do the same thing again? Or do they have a replacement grill? I think we are all suffering the problems of the grill chipping and pitting, I have only 2000 miles and mine looks worse than my '05 coupe did with 30K+

They said it is from different company. But if this one is gonna be same I'll find a better solution. I would love to see the grill with black chrome and only leave the infiniti sign in chrome. Should be awesome. There is couple of firm do the plating. It is a one day job you give them the grille and they give it back to you next day it is about 50-60 canadian $ it is about 40-50 american. I think it would look better in black since my car is black in black.

Yeah, my grille was all chipped at 3,000 miles. At that rate, I figure by about 50,000 miles or so the only thing that will be left at the front of my car will be the radiator!

Just got it stripped down and painted Black Obsidian to match the rest of the car. Left the Infiniti symbol in the middle chrome. Really looks cool. The original chipping chrome grille made it look to much like that Ford or Mercury thing with the big chrome horizontal grille anyways!

How do you like it? If you can post picture of it that'd be awesome or send me on email. I would love to see that. I thought maybe if I take a picture and edit it with paintshop I can see the result but that is too much work.
