Its a Super Black, charcoal interior SL. It has EVERY option on it. MSRP is $18,210 but I'm getting it for $17,000! Cant wait to get it tomorrow. Any suggestions of what to do as far as break in, what to expect?

Try and get a good nights sleep (I know its hard) so you pay attention when you are picking up the car for little details. Ex: nicks, scratches, dents inside outside, perhaps under the car for damages during transport. Also a good practice is to match up the VIN number on the purchase agreement with the VIN on the car.

As for break in, usually just following the owner's manual is a pretty safe and easy bet. The corporate lawyers are probably much more paranoid. I know there are alternatives to the usual recommended break in practices but they require time and absolute adherence to the procedure.

Other than that just enjoy your car, I know I do.

(P.S. yes I'm bored at work so I kinda rambled on and on...)

oh, its been at the dealer for a lil bit. I already looked it over and everything looks good. I didnt know if anyone who went from a different vehicle to this one would have any tips or things to expect.

I'd especially warn you not to get distracted and keep your eyes on the road in the first few weeks of driving this car. The steering is very tight and I almost drove into oncoming traffic (at least out of my lane) several times.

Just drive it easy for the first 1,000 miles or so, and don't gun it, allowing the engine to break-in. Happy driving.

(also, if you want to protect your doors from dings, park near the end of parking lots - near the curb; and, choose the widest spaces within reasonable distance from your destination - can't get too crazy, as eventually someone is going to swing their door too wide!)

I would suggest not taking it over 3K or 3500K RPMs for the first 1,000 miles. And as the manual says, no "jack-rabbit starts." Other than that... just enjoy it! Congrats!

Well, I stretched the facts, but couldn't resist the skid mark. Jackrabbit start is sudden acceleration off a complete stop, in which you 'could' burn rubber. You know the story of the hare and the turtle . . . !!

I was told that the best break in method was to never take the rpm's up to 4k and never floor it or fast take offs until you reach about 4k miles like what jfanaselle said.

As far as tips go, just like what jmaclean said, be careful and pay attention cause the steering is deffinently tight. And im not sure if anyone else has had this problem but the car is small....keep that in mind. Ive almost hit several people because they couldnt see me. Just yesterday im going 35mph in a residential area (35 was speed limit). And out of no where, maybe 100ft ahead of me, a school bus comes flying out of a side street and I slammed on the brakes and skidded (no ABS) and swerved to the side....almost hit the bus . But yeah just be careful out there.

On the topic of steering, watch out for crosswinds too. The car is tall with small tires/wheels. A good gust (storm grade) will land you into the next lane over if you are not paying attention.
