so i sold all my 240s and am picking up a j30 with running motor and fukll interior (minus diff and axles) for $500

i have sources for all the 5 speed stuff from 300zx z32

ARE THERE ANY werird things to expect when converting a j30 to 5 speed.

i converted my last car a 240sx convertible to 5 speed, so i know how to werk on cars but is there anything strange to expect, or anything i need to know guy?dont really have too much time for search buttons lol, and u dont see many 5 speed j30s, or at least i havent.

car will be used to drift, i have been sliding for 3 years with a naturaly aspirated ka24de 240sx convertible. i wanna switch it up and do something a little different :D

FYI the J30 weighs around 3600lbs...also if you seriously want to drift then your going to need to do something to improve your torque and unfortuantely there arent many mods for a VG30DE...your best bet would be a motor swap ie: VG30DETT but even that gets expensive...either way good luck...keep us posted

good luck.

one thing i have learned about this section which is different then other sections, is that everyone will tell you that nothing works, and really wont seem to show an interest in finding out what will work.

they are more likely to tell you to just keep it stock, etc etc.

they have even told me things wont work, after i did it, and posted pictures of it, and daily drove it for 6months and 10k miles.

thats not neccisarily true of everyone...and besides who cares what others think...people advised against the modifications ive done to my J but i did it cause i wanted to...i wasnt trying to put the guy down i was just stating the obvious...on the contrary i would definately be interested in seeing a drift spec J30...i just think it would be difficult and very pricey

...and very heavy.

Why not just put together a dirt track sprint car and really get sideways, pull a few wheelies and maybe get upside down too?

All left turns and yet the steering wheels are pointing to the right most of the track. That's real drifting!!

Wheel packin' and hot lappin'!

Devils Bowl Speedway- Site of the very first official WoO sprint cart race, won by Jimmy Boyd of Dixon, CA.

Back then the WoO = Ted Johnson, Sammy Swindell, Steve Kinser, Rick Ferkel, the T-shirt trailer and whoever else happened to show up.

That looked more like power sliding to me Nala. But still unique nonetheless.
