Permanently blocking the active grille shutter, has anyone done it?

When I bought my used car mine had it remove, I assume because of blockage by snow. So, I'm curious if I block it semi-permanently what conditions could I drive the car in or just leave it open?

Hey welcome to NICO!
From what I remember, that was a fuel economy savings type thing. I would think it can be removed permanently no problem with maybe a negligible loss in fuel economy, but if you permanently block it you could run the risk of overheating or having poor AC function.
