Starting to focus on the performance area of my car. Intake, Exhaust, Pulleys, Headers?

Intakes i hear are pointless as a first or second mod. More air in with not as much air going out.

That sets me to look at headers and exhaust. Headers from stillen are off road use only and require some cutting to be done (Ouch).

From what I see the stock cat on the 2.5L looks good; why replace it? Looking at stillen axel-back. But will the axel-back give me the more airflow i need for an intake to work effectively?

Back to the intake. Low end torque gone? I heard rumors of increased mpg. Since i usually commute the greater mpg would be ideal. Why not just buy a reusable K&N filter to fit in the stock intake?

Pulleys. Stock pulleys are balanced a certain way and I have been warned by my dealer they is a good chance of voiding the warranty on the engine. I love the idea of weight reduction but is this not the best way to go?

I have been wanting to take my spare tire out, the jack in the back, stay away from a sub and amp . . . not sure what else to remove to lessen the weight of the vehicle. I mean, what if i need that spare tire?

These are just some the things i have been dwelling on over the past couple months. They tell me not to touch my coupe performance wise

Any input would not only benefit me but everyone who is thinking about upgrading. Please post some thoughts.

take out the passenger seat

I finally installed my intake, i can feel a huge difference in the cars performance and in my gas usage. I have only had in for 1/2 a week as well.

I think i am the only 1 that installed the Takeda, the car to me felt sluggish coming through 2nd gear before now it seems to be stronger amd more responsive. by my calculations my intake will have paid for itself in 30 weeks by the amount of gas i have saved on my already 500 kms i have put on it.

I will put alittle tid bit out there and someone can disprove me please. the air coming in through the intake at higher RPM is producing a much better gas-air ratio then our restrictive boxes. So using less gas at higher RPM.

Now on that note I notice that if I am cruising and I am going up and down a hill the engine doesnt labour and is thus using less gas. Makes sense to me thoughts anyone.

I would wait for the pulley until you are closer to ending your warranty. I am rearing up on 30k miles and am not so worried about the warranty anymore. So I will be getting the pulley soon (hopefully by the end of the year)

I took my spare tire out, it adds a lot of trunk space. I wouldn't necessarily do it for weight savings though. The risk of needing your tire outweighs the 40 or so lbs you would save.

The headers are not for off road use ONLY, they will just screw you over when you need to go in for emissions.

So what do you notice from the bull dog? Real results? Turners seem like a waste when i had one on my truck.

Don't mean to kill the mojo but do you have any dyno's of the hp increase?
