Performance figures for B16 Sentra SE-Rs and SE-R Spec Vs

A great resource for Nissan Sentra, Infiniti G20, 200sx, Pulsar, NX1600, NX2000, Tsuru, Primera and Sunny owners.

Just out of sheer curiosity, does anyone the top speed and acceleration figures for both the SE-R and SE-R Spec V. I've been searching all over the internet but have found nothing. Any input is appreciated.

Google knows. I'm pretty certain the top speed of both is limited to 140ish electronically anyway, just like pretty much every Nissan.

Not that that matters, there's no reason anyone should ever get a Sentra to that kind of speed.

0-60 times are probably within a tenth or two of a second of each other. Probably in the mid to high 7s.

Thanks for the info. Didn't think it could go that fast. Thought it went to about 125-ish. Oh, and I don't really plan to go that fast. I've just been thinking about the subject.

Someone posted a picture of his dash doing 5k rpm and about 145 or so on one of those spec-v forums, mind you he was a US Airforce dude who took his car with him to German so it was legal on the Autobahn so don't do that unless you are in Germany LOL.

Considering that the tire's rate W on the Spec-v and V on the SE-R I think going much faster isn't such a good idea.

0-60 times is under 7 seconds. Review mags says 6.6 (Road and Track) to 6.7 (the rest). So it's more or less similar to the Civic Si.

I'm surprised it's under 7. Then again, 25 more hp (than the B15) is more of a difference than the added weight anyway.

Well no one's tested the base SE-R those figures are for the Spec-V. I'll test it but I am not past my break in period yet and I'll have to find a place where it's safe to do so.

But I suspect the SE-R will be similar maybe a bit slower. The weaker engine being made up for by the CVT removing the driver's skill out of the equation.

The autobahn now has a speed limit if im not mistaken.

the old spec was 0-60 in about 7.1 seconds. so 6.6 to 6.8 for the added weight aint bad at all.

There's speed limits in parts. There are still unrestricted sections.

That was my crazy a$$. Like gotak said some areas have speed limits and some don't. Trust me it was hard to get it up there and i had to be in 5th the car has NO balls in 6TH at that speed. When i get my new exhaust i'm going to try again. I already have the Ralco Pulley and the car pulls alittle harder up top i think. I got to about 140 MPH (speedo stops there) @ 5500RPM's in 5th gear. The car can get to about 120 with no problem after that i think the wind plays a BIG roll. Oh BTW i'm in Belgium and i was visting a friend in germany but all the same. any other questions fell free to ask.

Air resistance is huge. It's a square law I believe. If anyone watched Top Gear's stuff on the Veyron they say it takes like 270 hp to get it to 155 mph but the rest of the 1000 hp to get it up to it's top speed. So gives you an idea how bad wind resistance gets.

02-06 Specs are known to love bolt-ons. Check the maintenance sticky too, you'll want a header to go with those.

I/H/E will run $500-1000 total, depending on brands. It could be done for less, but not with decent equipment.

i think I/H/E ran me $900 in total. The 02 Specs are lovely if u swap the header with an after market one and Lock tite the butterfly screws. Im currently at 50K miles and running stable. after doing basic bolt ons read up on the knock sensor mod.
