Well, I've been here in Creve Coeur, MO for about a week now, a wealthy suburb saturated with Infinitis, Lexuses, Jaguars, and Cadillacs. The eye candy is great!

But one thing that confused me was the insane volume of Infiniti QX4s on the road here. I see many of them daily, driving around in a variety of colors, mostly by younger men and women. I've seen plenty of G35s, G20s, first-gen Q45s, M45s, J30s, an M30, but for some odd reason there's a ton of QX4s here. I have not seen one FX35/FX45.

I thought the QX4 was a sales flop? Anyone know the price diff between the QX4 and Pathfinder LE? And are there any differences between the two other than price and badge? Winter's around the corner and I wouldnt mind an SUV... I wish the minivan wasnt so terrible in the snow. :(

I have noticed the same thing here in Indy. Tons of QX4's. It may be the most prevalent SUV besides the Ford Explorer.

I wouldn't call the QX4 a sales flop by no means. It does very well and since the demise of it for 04 year there has been a ton of them on the roads here in DC and VA. I think it's do because of the good incintives infiniti is giving out.

Also the qx4/pathfinder body style has been around since 96. not much has changed on the bodys style except for rounded panels here in there. The Qx4s have little change too except for the engines, hids and a few panels here in there with bigger rims. I think the qx4 is in need of a new body style similiar to what we have just a little bit more stretched like the new 4runner. Our trucks actually big but nissan some how cramped the seating room in the truck. I don't understand how my moms RX300 is virtually smaller than my qx4 but yet it has more leg room for front and back seat drivers. Little touches infiniti left out like fold down rears seats at one touch or by just hitting the lever, and not doing three different steps and removing headrest (that was a dumb idea). the lexus also has a feature where you can slide the back seats <- -> , I like that feature. Plus the center dash in the qx4 is so plain unless you got the navi. I also like dual climate controls. anyway <rant mode off> those are my 2 cents. The qx4 is a great truck and I don't feel like a chick when I am driving it. Love it. If you could get one, I would pick it over a pathfinder anyday.

We're seriously considering an '01 or '02 QX4. Are you aware of any chronic problems? Trans? Front suspension? How's mileage? Acceleration? I assume you have 4wd. Can you make any comparison to AWD?

Their rep is Hi reliability. You agree?

A lot of SUV's arent real reliable the QX4 is <not> one of them:ylsuper.

The VQ series engine is almost bulletproof and It's a mature platform which means no bugs.

Real good AWD system too.

Nice interior..

Great value...

I owned a 97 PAthfinder before my 2000 QX4. There are alot of differences in my mind. First is the fact that the Infiniti comes with the factory 4/60 instead of the standard 3/36 warranty. I talked to the local Infiniti dealer near me and he said they can't keep used QX4's in stock.

I'm looking for a Pathfinder or QX4, and I've done a lot of research. They are extremely reliable, and the used ones are priced pretty well. In 2005 there will be a new body style for the Pathfinder and Frontier, so I'm guessing there will be a new bodystyle for the QX4 soon. I personally don't think that they are due for a new body style cause I've always liked them, But the new Pathfinders are really nice so, so should the QX4. They are gonna have a 4.0L 6 cylinder with more power so, that should be nice. I don't think that the QX4s are sales flops, cause I seen them everywhere. Just as often as the Pathfinders. I would definetly go for a QX4 if you can afford it! For me, I'll probably get a Pathy, cause they are more in my price range. Good luck with your search!

I believe the QX4 is being dropped from the infiniti line up or has already.

They made them in 2003, but I'm not sure about 2004 and on, so maybe they have stopped, I dunno.

No 2004 QX4...But with Nissan's new 2005 Pathfiner coming, maybe Infiniti will tag along again with a more upscale model...The QX56 is just a HUGE piece of ..........scrap...
