My 1994 d21's 4wd 2.4 engine blew a headgasket a few months ago. It has about 195000 miles on it, so I'm considering changing the engine. I have a '94 pathfinder with 135000 miles that has a rotten frame :bs: sitting in my back yard. What all would I need to put this in my single cab truck. Will my d21 driveshafts work with the v6? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Jeff.

You can't just swap engines because the transmissions are different. You're going to need the transmission out of the V6 Pathfinder too (or from a V6 HB).

I'm not sure if the Pathy is 4x4, but if you want to keep the D21 a 4wd truck then you're going to need a transfer case from a 4x4 V6 truck. The V6 trans and transfer cases are different from the KA24 ones so the driveshafts are likely not the same. The V6 trans and transfer case will be a longer unit overall so you'll need driveshafts from a short wheelbase 4x4 truck with the same axles as the D21. If your Pathfinder is a 4x4 and has the same axles then you can reuse those because the wheelbase will be the same between D21 and WD21.

Thanks for the info, I have a complete running 4wd 94 pathfinder se automatic. My truck is a single cab truck, so I was thinking I'd need a shorter driveshaft. Will the 2.4 driveshafts work with the v6? I'm not sure if any single cab trucks came with v6's.
