Update: Fixed it today, in -7C temperature. Froze my fingers pretty much. Not fun.
I bought a knockoff coil from NAPA (less than half the price of OEM). Nissan prices are nutty.
Anyway, just to be a little proactive in case the new one fails, I took the #2 coil and moved it over to the #4 plug.
I installed the new coil on #2. If it fails, it will be easy to swap out.
Getting the #4 coil pack out (that was the bad one) is a total PITA.
Not only do you have to remove the air intake plumbing, but you have to remove the IACV.
Considering the truck is 19 years old, every screw and plug was either oily or rusty or stuck. Taking everything apart was not easy.
Anyway, it's running on 6 cylinders again, and I cleared the codes.
I just need it to get through the winter. Fingers crossed.

Took the truck out this evening for a short run to the stores.
It's probably my imagination, but it seems to be running smoother and idling better than before.
I cleaned the IACV while I had it out, so that may have made a bit of a difference.
It's really a testament to this engine and drive-train that it still runs and performs so well.
I still go from oil change to oil change with almost no oil loss....after 330,000 Kms. (about 200,000 miles).
I've had this truck since 2003, and with no major issues save the IACV failure and ECM repair that I had to do, I am still impressed.
I just wish the salty winter roads hadn't beat up the sheet metal so badly. The rust is really getting bad.
I still believe this generation of Pathfinder (R50) is Nissan's best.
Cheers all.

Yeah mine is about the same - 2002 with 220K miles on the clock. I've changed out 3 of the 8 ignition coils - they seem to be going out one by one! So just be ready for it to happen again (potentially)!!

If y'all both live in North Saltania, read this before you assume coils are just "quitting". Maybe they are, but maybe there's a reason.

Do you mean 3 out of the 6?

Good catch. Didn't even notice. Now I wish I had a V8 in my Pathy. That would be cool.
Then again, the last car I owned with a V8 was a dog. It was an '84 Buick Regal with the 305.
It was so detuned, it put out less horsepower than my current four banger Mazda.
