My daughter has a 1995 Pathfinder with the remote door opener on the key chain. I've replaced the battery and reset the remote with the box under the front seat and the remote works fine for about a week. It then does not respond. It has happened a few times. Does anyone know what can cause this? Like I said, the battery is new and that is all I can think of as the possible problem.

Please let me know. Thanks.

Mike

I had a problem like that with my Infiniti J30, and it turned out ot be a relay. The remote didn't work even after new batteries, and randomely the alarm would go off. My battery would keep getting drained. Until we figured it out, I had to drive around with an extra battery and cables. Good luck, I hope you find out the problem!

Does the remote do anything when its not working as expected on your daughters WD-21? If replacing the battery fixes it everytime I would guess shes either placing the remote on something that is depressing the button and running the battery down. or something in the remote is draining the battery. Have you ever tried just resetting it with the controller under the seat without replacing the battery and had it work? In this case I would say the controller has a problem and may need replacement.

The remote hangs off the key chain so I don't think that's the problem. If I reset the box under the seat, it works for about a week and then stops responding to the remote.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

do you have to put a new battery in the remote though?

I reset the box without changing the battery and it is working fine again. For whatever reason the remote loses it's ability to communicate with the box and I need to reset it. I did not have to change the battery.

Thanks fro any help.

the remotes not the problem the unit under the seat is. it is losing its memory of the frequency the transmitter is sending so it constantly needs to be reset. since you know how to reset it you could pick one up at a junkyard install it your self and set it for her remotes. would only take about 45 mins to replace and set
