K20 in that would be just as fast as the 3.5se A/C..... down side, it would get stolen or at least broken into 1,000 times before you could even try to do an engine swap.
Hi there, Hussain,I had a dark charcoal grey '92 Honda Civic 3-door CX (REAL black was reserved for the DX & Si trims). CX got almost the same mpg as the VX, but the CX transmission was considered stronger/better (by a tiny bit).
Mine was only broken into once, and it wasn't even the car itself that was the target, it was my suede blazer I had hanging over the back of the car seat Man, I loved that coat.
The mpg wasn't actually better than the new Civic hybrid. Only a few years back (since 2000 IIRC), the EPA changed the criteria for calculating fuel economy to require newer and more realistic driving trends (faster acceleration, higher average highway speed limits, air conditioner use, &c) be taken into consideration, and the result was an apparent loss of fuel economy, even between consecutive manufacturer years of the same make/model. As I recall, it was right after the Toyota Prius made its debut. The following year, the fuel economy figures went down, but only because the new rules for calculating those figures went into effect.
If the '92-'96 Honda Civic's fuel economy had been figured by the new rules, the numbers would probably have looked more like 28 city / 36 hwy or so. Still, I recall one trip down I-16 from Macon to Savannah during which I averaged about 50 mpg !!
And that Civic Hatchback I bought back in '92? I sold it back in 2006 for around $1250 I got over a tenth its original value back after having driven it for 14 years
