when i installed my dc sport header and what i was told to be a smog pump was in fact my pair valve. Well i removed it all over it and blocked off the vaccum lines. Well now once the car heats up im having serious power loss. What could i do to get around the pair valve, is there a aftermarket ecu that bypasses all emissons, or is there something i else i have to take off? And the pair valve that i took off is long gone, and now my factory O2 sensor is in its place

forgive me if this is a stupid question but what is a pair valve? Ive removed all emissions from SOHC and DOHC motors but never come across this(or if I did I thought it was called something else).

on the ka24de in the s13 the pair valve stops exhuast gasses from entering the intake to balance the egr from what i have been told. and it is found on the drive right strut tower

Actually the PAIR sucks air from the intake into the exhaust to do some crap about lowering the vacuum in the exhaust. It's not necessary at all which is why it's not on s14s...

If you plugged the hole it leaves in the intake box and the vacuum hoses are SECURELY plugged you shouldn't be having any problems. The ECU doesn't really do anything worthwhile with the pair anyways.

For plugging vacuum lines i always ghetto rig it, drywall screw covered in silicone then just screw it into the end. That way i'm absolutely sure it's plugged.
