OK - so this is bugging me! I got the p1140 code using an Actron code reader. I've replaced the solenoid and the sensor for the driver's side and I'm still getting that code.

Did I replace the wrong components or something? Any ideas?

Thank you!

Did I replace the stuff on the wrong side? p1140 is for the driver's side vtc sensor and/or solenoid, right?

I can't even find P1140 in the FSM. What year is your R50?

EDIT: Nevermind, you have a 2001 2WD 5spd

P1140 is the IVT control position sensor for the passenger side, not the driver side. You position yourself as if you're sitting in the vehicle. Right is passenger, left is driver.

However, this issue could also be caused by other sensors besides the IVT control position sensor. Other sensors known to cause P1140 are the crankshaft position sensors (both REF and POS) and and the camshaft position sensor (PHASE).

Yup - that did the trick I was on the wrong side...

There's always just enough time between jobs like this one for me to forget which side is Bank 1 and which is Bank 2.

Thanks for the help!!
