The next day i got in my car and drove about a mile and the car was completely overheated, smoking from the passenger side of the engine and now it has a little rattling knocking sound to it sometimes!!!! I am not they very good with cars but would like to learn how to fix my own car!!!!anybody know what could be wrong????? What to check????

same thing happened in my s13 sounds like you blew your head gasket. Its not that hard to replace don't let it overheat it will warp the head and you will have to have it milled down like i did. Do you have the ka24e or de? It could possibly be your water pump but i doubt it. Was it boiling the coolant in your overflow tank?
