DennisI'm unsure about your problem, as I'm unsure about mine.Basically I'm a parts changer.Diagnosing problems is not my strong point.I was hoping for some guidance myself.Try leaving the thermostat out as I did.My car does not overheat without it.Sorry

hey franz i had a similar problem with over heating , but it could be anything its hard to say what it is , but you have to try many things. in my case i had some bent valves and it caused the overheating. but you should try a lower degree thermostat and if you can ask for a failsafe thermostat if it fails it will just open and prevent it from overheating. you shoud try that

I`m not a mechanic but you seem to be saying you removed the stat and you are no longer overheating. Sounds like air or your new stat didnt have a jiggle valve.

how did you do flow test? because id like to do that test to see how my rad is. do you just open up the bottom hose and watch the flow ?

yeah you could check air in your system dude ,theres a little 10mm bolt rigth in front of the intake mani that reads never open when hot in tiny letters, just run water thru your rad at full force for a minute or two then quickly put that bolt back while it still squirtin water outta the little hole, that should get rid of air bubbles

if you want the air out, park the car on a steep hill with rad cap and valve open and run car. you can also sit on the bumpers to shake car.

Hi vancouverbcThe flow test was done at a Radiator repair shop.I was going to get it cleaned and rodded.(Thats where they boil the radiator and then push rods through the core to clean it out)The guy said the radiator is fine.Frank

Over HeatingI changed the thermostat, which I bought from Nissan (w/jiggle valve), and also replaced the fan clutch. So far so good. The car is not overheating. Thanks for all your input.Frankz28
