i have a problem w my car overheating. it started when i saw some coolant smoke coming out from underneath the hood. i did a visual inspection and saw that the radiator was cracked. i tried to do a quick fix by using some of that radiator patch but that only lasted like3 days so i replaced the radiator. ever since then the cars has been overheating irratically and the heater isnt as hot as before. people had told me to flush the radiator again so i did but it still overheats sometimes. is it possible that while the radiator was cracked lack to the head caused it to warp??I did change the thermostat to. when i drive it for a while the heat works and gauge goes back to the middle/

a little help??

If the heat is going up and down you might have air in the system. That would do it. Also try replacing the radiator cap. Just a couple simple solutions.

I agree, it sounds like it has air in the system. Try (starting from cold) start the car without the radiator cap on and the heater on full blast. Play with the throttle a little bit and watch the coolant level. Correct it as needed. The air should be out of the system when you have hot air coming out of the heater at idle.

make sure you remove the that bolt next to the top hose, forgot what its called, and jack the front of the car up and go make yourself a peanut butter and jelly sandwich because you gotta let run for a while. I did mine for a half an hour

bleeder

heres what u do

jack up the fron tof the car or park it at an angle so the front is higher...

fill radiator to top

unscrew the bleader screw (as described being right were the top rad hose connects)

turn car on (leave cap off)

let car warm up

start adding water

keep adding until all air stops coming out of the bleeder valve...

when water / coolant starts coming out close the screw and

top off radiator wiht w/e fluid ur using.... and ba, uve properly filed ur system
