Hi dear Versa owners I need to ask about the "Overdrive" function.

How to use it?

Why to use it?

using the overdrive off mode is for when you need the transmition to down shift to go up or down a steep grade on a mountain. You can also use the feature as a form of engine braking though I would not recommend doing that all the time.

If you have a CVT then it's pretty much useless. Not even sure why they left that feature on there. I guess it was more expensive to engineer it out of the CVT then just leaving it.

Some folks turn it off temporarily for more "oomph" when coming out of stops, but it sure won't help your mileage. The only time I turn it off is on a couple of mountain driveways here when I'm going up a steep slope at very slow speed.
