Since I'm being told that neither one of the wheels I'm considering for my car are going to be available for another month or so, I have some time to get some second opinions. I'm trying to decide between the two wheels pictured below for my '07 Spec V in Magnetic Grey, can't figure out which ones would look better. Any opinions would be appreciated. The toss up is between the R-1 Racing Drift 18X8 Hyperblack, or the R-1 Racing Victory 18X7.5 Hyperblack. Both have a 40+ offset and a difference of about 3lbs. Drift has a 42mm lip and victory has a 64mm lip, both chrome. Sorry these aren't the best of pictures but all I could find online.

you should check out the O.Z. Superleggera rims, those would also look nice on your spec v.

yeah those are nice but i'm not really trying to spend $4K on a set of wheels and tires, I'd rather put that towards performance mods if you know what i mean. I know it's a 3 pc wheel versus the 1 pc R-1's, but that superleggera is the same weight as the R-1 Drift, 3 lbs heavier than the Victory, and 5 times more expensive than either of the other two. I've looked high and low for other wheels that I like as much as these two and I kind of have my mind set on getting one of the bunch, just trying to narrow it down to which one. Thanks for your suggestion though.

The second set, I hate studs around the lip of the wheel.

the only thing that turns me off about the victory (second wheel) is that they have both 5 X 100 and 5 X 114.3 bolt patterns on the same wheel. i know that's fairly common with 1 pc wheels but i need the 5 X 114.3 bp, and if you look in the picture that is the outside holes on this wheel. i think they should have reversed it to make the primary bolt pattern 5 X 114.3 since that is the more common of the two. the outside holes don't seem to be as sturdy.

What's the price difference?

the victory's are only about $100 less for the set of 4, not enough to really sway me one way or the other. the reason i'm leaning towards the victory is because it's only 7.5" wide as opposed to 8" in the Drift so i will have a little more room to play with if i need to put in a small spacer in there for more brake clearance. its also 3 to 4 lbs lighter. i've seen the drift in person and it is a sick looking wheel, i wish i could see the victory before making a decision.

Can't say I'm a huge fan of spacers, they change the whole stance of the car.

The 8in ones probably have an offset that will make a spacer pointless.

I'd go for the wider wheel.

Also, as a side note, the rivets on the first one are probably just for show. Mine are and I find them silly.

when i say spacer i'm talking about a little 5mm spacer, just enough to give a little more brake clearance but still not even enough to really notice. i agree that i dont like the look when people put large spacers on there.

both wheels have a 40+mm offset so the 8" wheel comes out 23mm vs. the 16mm of the 7.5in wheel over oem. 23mm is basically flush with the fenders, so i'm worried that when i get my eibach pro-kit springs at the end of november when they come out i will have rubbing issues, or even worse crack the fender over a bumpy road.

and yes both are one piece wheels so the rivets are just for show.

i'm pissed off cause i just saw the motegi dp10 wheels, which has the spokes specifically designed for large brake applications, but they discontinued that wheel in the finish and offset i would need! this is such a nightmare and royal pain in my a$$!
