I need to get new tires. I have always bought from Tire Rack. But this is my first car with tpms. What issues do I need to be aware of. Should I expect to pay extra due to the rims having tpms? I usually just take the wheels in off the car, should I expect that to be a problem? What needs to be replaced in relation to the valve stem. Many thanks.

I wouldn't think anything. Just take the tire pressue monitor off the old tires and put on the new.

You shouldn't run into any problems and you shouldn't have to pay any extra because of the TPMS. You will, however, need to keep the wheels in the same position (RF, LF, RR, LR, respectively). The sensor IS the valve stem itself, so new stems are not required.
