This 1958 L210 sedan is being auctioned on Bring a Trailer ending on Wednesday the 21st.

It could be the oldest extant Datsun sedan in country could it not? I've seen some '59s out there but a '58 seems to be much rarer. Serial number is L210-8-108244.

Anyone know of any earlier?

The challenge with the humpbacks is that they weren't sequentially numbered... there are several 58s in the US (I know of at least 6 that I've laid hands on), but establishing which one's the "oldest" is tough.

The other challenge (and the reason I don't already have one) is that replacement parts simply don't exist, so a correct restoration is near impossible.

One possible way to establish manufacturing date is to look for supplier tags on seat belts. Even in 1958 the "Just in time, JIT" philosophy was catching on. "JIT" tags on front seat belts only count! No rear seat belts were offered that early, so rear seat belts are surely owner installed as a requirement for later year registration.
