ok, now get your laughig out of the way then please take this serious!!! ok well the other day i went to put in my norris designs ECU chip..( hmmm i just had the damn thing where did i put it ) ,sk the family if any one has seen a small computer chip anywhere, dad chimes in yeah i found one in the washing machine yesterday !!!! LOL, yah get it out guys !!! yes im an idiot i just washed my ECU chip... thats not the worst part, whats worse is i washed my cell phone two days before that !!! i know i should have checked my pockets carefully but i was tired ! Question is,you guys think itll work Still or could have it been erased, i think this is a boot legged chip ? Paul(movingviolation) i think it came from you orginaly did you have any of these ever? could it have erased the chip.. all the prongs are bent against the bottom of the chip theyll have to be straightend back out !! any one any one !~!

hard to say, i dont think it would clear the eprom date from it without some sort of power sorce, but it could be damaged.

Things like individual electrical chips are suprisingly resilient to water, unless they're powered on when they get wet. In the case of the chip, it's probably okay. A bit of water might have seeped inside any tiny space that might be there between where the prongs come out of the casing. It's not gonna hurt to plug it in and give it a try. Worst case scenario is that it just doesn't work.

yea thats what i was figuring guys thanks !! and by the way my cellphone works so damn if that can survive a washing, i hope the chip did !!! least my phone is downy fresh now!!

a very knowledgable mechanic guru friend of my swears that ECU can be washed in a dishwasher!

how the hell do you accidently wash a ps2?!?!? just curious

One of the tricks that you can use to clean PC boards is to run them through a dishwasher. Comes out squeaky clean and works great (after you let it dry). If the pins are all still OK on the EPROM then it should be fine. I have washed MANY boards & chips in various ways an they are were fine.

Sounds like you need to take your laundry to your mom and have her do it. Washing machines are obviously a hazard to you!:D Seriously though, it should still work fine.

I had the ps2 in my doufle bag and i threw the bag in the washing machine without knowing its still there with buncha other cloths

LOL. complete the cycle and throw it in the dryer. It should be fine then.
