ok i the switch, but....

ok... here's the deal... wanted to switch 93 HUD cluster for analog....Ok so i went to the "junkyard" today, and I found a 93 cluster , but the instrument wiring harness had been cut instead of nicely pulled. So i looked around some more, found a 91 with the cluster still in. I pulled it, brought it home, and everything lights up, and the temp/fuel work, but the tach and the speedo are dead.... could this be from the harness being different? if i find another (93 vs. the 91) harness will that work, or should i try and switch for the 93 cluster, and keep looking for the 93 instrument wiring harness? BTW, anyone know how much the harness would be from the dealer?

just trrying to trouble shoot...

the signal for the speedo/tach is most likely wired to goto the HUD, and there fore not sending a signial to the part of the harness that conects to the new speedo and tach.

is that understandable ?
