Don't bother using the gimmicky ROYAL PURPLE... Your better off just putting in Super Syn Mobil 1. That is one of the best Syn oils you can get and has no added dyes that can cause any type of left over residue.

5w-30 is fine to put in and older car, mostly used for winters though(Like mine). This is mainly done because it is lighter and can flow better in cold weather vs 10w-30, but if your gonna do it in the summer as it would be kinda pointless to put in 5w in there, but it should be fine.

Why do you want to use Royal Purple? Because they want you to use it? If you really want to increase horsepower throw in a K&N air filter and maybe do a double flush of oil...drain the old oil...fill er up with cheap oil and run for about 10 minutes and then drain again. Change to a good oil filter and good sythetic oil with whatever weight you use. Also, you could chage the spark plugs. Cheap and easy stuff to get you running better. Cheers

Ok, this suggestion of throwing crappy oil, not so good. First, due to the fact that you've already been running synthetic oil in your car, if you put in a"cheap" oil, the seal will probably shrink on you and start to leak. When you first put in synthetic oil, it causes the seals to swell up. Which is why you NEVER go from conventional to synthetic and back to convential, you get oil leaks. So take that suggestion and toss it out the window.

And oh yeah, I almost forgot, that double oil change thing, only works in GRAN TOURISMO!!!!!!!!

Ignore the uneducated comment about the double oil change with regular oil. I bet that guy would want you to use a tornado intake and add a NOS sticker as well because he read that its good in Import Tuner lol

Anyway, switching to 5w30 is fine. The oil that I recommend is Mobil 1. Its the best Synthetic Oil for the money. I run it in all of our cars.
