after installing oil pump i did a shady job on the oil pan gasket and am having to go through alot of work to re-do it so I want to make sure i get it right. The FSM says a continuous bead on the middle of the mating surface and on the inward side of bolt holes. I can get that down, but what about those rubber half circle gaskets at the front and rear of the pan? Should I put gasket maker on top and below of those? neither? the motor will still be in car but suspended above the subframe, any other tips much appreciated

only add gasket maker to the sides of the oil pan, don't put any where the rubber gaskets go.

I use hylomar on the rubber bits, particularly if I'm reusing them, and use clear sanitory silicone sealer for the sides.
